Inlays
Inlays are an opportunity to make your box truly unique. Whether you want your name inlaid into the side in a crushed stone or a clan mon on each side in a unique color of stone, an inlay can truly put your mark on the box.
Simple Inlay options
With the return of mitered corners, a lot of new inlay opportunities are available. This is an example of a padauk box with an inlaid strip of osage orange. Other examples can be see in the gallery. These inlays are relatively easy to do (and thus, much less expensive than others- they start around $5)
The inlay on this box was also reasonably simple but provided a unique feature. The crane's eye was inlaid with crushed turquiose, providing just a bit of crane blue to this box. The customer was looking for a simple, elegant effect and we worked to provide that.

We carry a number of stones to use for inlays. Please remember that while some stones (Like turquiose or Azurite) look good crushed, others (like Tiger's Eye) look better in polished chips. So tiger's eye may be well suited to fill an eye with a chip, but not to fill in a large field. In turquiose we have several shades - we can work with you to select the shade that best matches what you want.
